Veteran small forward Chandler Parsons will return to the Memphis Grizzlies after the All-Star break, but it's unclear what kind of role he will have with the team for the rest of the season, according to Omari Sankofa II of The Athletic.

Parsons has only played in three games this season. He's been away from the team for quite some time, but will rejoin the Grizzlies after the All-Star break after the club wasn't able to trade him at the February trade deadline.

It’s unclear what kind of role Parsons, who has only played 73 games since signing his $94 million contract two-and-a-half years ago, will have when he returns later this week. When asked, Bickerstaff didn’t commit to playing Parsons. At least, not immediately following his return.

“I think it’ll be good that we’re coming out of the break and we’ll have a few days to practice just to get him on the court, get him back with the group, see where he is,” Bickerstaff said. “It’s been a while since he’s played as well. So it’ll be good to have him on the floor, get up and down a little bit, see where he is physically and mentally and then we’ll go from there.”

As we all know, Parsons has one of the worst contracts in the NBA. The swingman signed a four-year, $94 million deal with the Grizzlies in the summer of 2016, but has only played in 73 games with Memphis due to knee injuries.

Parsons is averaging 7.0 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists with the Grizzlies. He hasn't been the same player since his early Houston Rockets and late Dallas Mavericks days since he underwent multiple knee surgeries.
