Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant has emerged as one of the most promising young players in the game today. Recently, the 21-year-old opened up about one particular area of his game that he wants to continue to improve on, and as it turns out, Morant is turning to Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving for some inspiration.

According to Morant, he considers Irving to be one of the best finishers in the league, and he hopes to add the same type of elite skillset to his game somewhere down the road (h/t Grizzly Bear Blues on Twitter):

Irving is not exactly an above-the-rim type of player, which somewhat differentiates him from Morant and the latter's high-fling ways. For his part, however, Morant appreciates that scoring goes way beyond the flashy dunks, and he knows that in order for him to become a top offensive threat in the league, he too has to master the art of finishing. Kyrie is one of the best in the business in this particular area, so it is not at all surprising that Morant has so much admiration towards him.

The same cannot be said about Irving's relationship with the media, however. Recently, the six-time All-Star was fined $25,000 by the league for refusing to attend several of Brooklyn's press interviews. Kyrie followed it up with some rather contentious comments addressed to the media, which caused even more controversy.

Perhaps this is one particular trait of Irving's that Ja Morant would be better of not taking after.
