Ja Morant has missed the last 10 games for the Memphis Grizzlies. The 22-year-old was placed in the league's health and safety protocols while he was on the road to recovery from a knee injury. Right now, though, it sounds like the Grizzlies will get their star point guard back sooner rather than later.

According to Memphis head coach Taylor Jenkins, Morant could be back as soon as Sunday when they face off against Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers:

The Grizzlies have won nine out of the 10 games without Morant, which is a testament to the fighting spirit of this Memphis squad. Nevertheless, the return of their All-Star-aspiring guard can only be good for this team.

Coach Jenkins also added that at this point, Morant is very much looking forward to his return to the court:

“Everything we're getting from how his body's feeling from the injury and all that stuff, he's feeling great. He's in positive spirits and so is the team,” he said, via Evan Barnes of Memphis Commercial Appeal.

Prior to his injury, Morant had been putting up career-best averages of 24.1 points (on 47.6 percent shooting), 5.6 rebounds, 6.8 assists, and 1.6 steals. The former Rookie of the Year is also draining 1.6 triples per game on a 35.6-percent clip.

As of Friday afternoon, the Grizzlies are 18-11 and are sitting at the fourth spot in a ruthless Western Conference.
