Ja Morant and his Memphis Grizzlies kept their season alive for one more game. Their squad outlasted the San Antonio Spurs in the second day of the play-in tournament, 100-96.

After the game, the Grizzlies star expressed his appreciation for the fans who poured their hearts cheering at FedEx Forum:

The Grizzlies were already admitting fans into their games to end the season. But they made sure to up their capacity specifically for the play-in game, and it showed:

“There's been a lot going on for a couple of weeks now and trying to figure out what the right, safe but increased capacity would be,” Grizzlies president Jason Wexler said. “Ultimately we got to the 40% level by creating a distancing environment that was three feet in every direction as opposed to six feet.”

Grizzlies fans were rabid in cheering for Ja Morant and the rest of the Grizzlies, after missing out on their play-in matchup last season during the NBA bubble. In turn, the Grizz put up numbers to give them something to cheer about.

Ja Morant finished with 20 points, six rebounds, and six assists. Jonas Valanciunas put up a monster double-double with 23 points and 23 rebounds to go along with 3 blocked shots. Dillon Brooks meanwhile paced their squad in scoring with 24 points.

The Grizzlies draw the loser of the 7th vs. 8th play-in matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors.
