We're in the middle of the NBA offseason as every team is making moves to upgrade their rosters. The Memphis Grizzlies have generated a ton of hype in recent years all thanks to Ja Morant. While the front office continues building a possible championship-caliber roster, Morant just made a bold claim that will surely reach Michael Jordan's ears.

In an interview with Taylor Rooks for Bleacher Report, Morant says he would have bested Jordan in his era. After mentioning he'd love to have had a chance to play in the NBA during the '90s, the Grizzlies star didn't hold back on claiming he'd beat Michael Jordan one-on-one:

Of course, Jordan is likely to scoff at this and take some offense. At least, that's his reaction to nearly everything whenever someone claims they can beat him. Too bad Ja Morant and Michael Jordan are from different generations, as an NBA playoff battle between the two would be enticing. Perhaps the Grizzlies point guard should at least challenge MJ to a shoot-off?

Either way, Morant has surely drummed up some buzz around him and his teammates. Memphis surprised many last season with their strong play, all for it to end against the Golden State Warriors in the second round. The Grizzlies are in a phenomenal spot right now, as the future looks bright for this ball club with Morant leading the way.

This type of confidence is rare, as not many would be willing to make this claim. Morant will surely catch some catch for this take, especially from those who watched the '90s era, but he rightly notes that he will always carry this confidence no matter what he is doing or who he is going up against.

Either way, look for Ja Morant to continue improving his game to hopefully help the Grizzlies advance further into the playoffs next year.
