The Memphis Grizzlies went a surprising 28-26 prior to the All-Star break behind the stellar play of Jaren Jackson Jr. and Ja Morant.

The two youngsters have already developed great chemistry on the court, and the Grizzlies look like they are going to be a team to be reckoned with for years to come with Jackson and Morant leading the charge.

In a recent interview with Alex Kennedy of HoopsHype, Jackson talked about his on-court chemistry with Morant:

“It’s been crazy, man,” Jackson said. “Our chemistry really started off the court because we weren’t really playing in Summer League, so we really had that whole time to just hang out. From there, it was a very smooth transition once we got on the court together just because we were already so cool with each other. We were just able to mesh really well.”

Ja Morant is the front-runner for the 2020 Rookie of the Year Award. He's averaging 17.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 7.1 assists this season while shooting 49.3 percent from the field, 35.8 percent from beyond the arc and 78.3 percent from the free-throw line.

Jaren Jackson Jr., meanwhile, has taken his game to another level as a sophomore. The 20-year-old Grizzlies big man is averaging 17.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists while shooting 46.8 percent from the floor, 39.7 percent from the 3-point line and 74.7 percent from the charity stripe.

The Grizzlies are currently in the eighth spot in the Western Conference standings. Memphis is four games ahead of the Portland Trail Blazers for the final playoff spot.
