Grizzlies’ Jonas Valanciunas believes Kawhi Leonard, Giannis Antetokounmpo ‘can reach LeBron’s level’

Memphis Grizzlies center Jonas Valanciunas believes Toronto Raptors small forward Kawhi Leonard and Milwaukee Bucks swingman Giannis Antetokounmpo “can reach LeBron’s level” if they continue to improve their games.

While LeBron James is still universally recognized as the best player in basketball, Leonard, Giannis and Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant are closing in on LeBron. In fact, some pundits believe Durant has already eclipsed James.

Valanciunas, who used to play on the Raptors before he got traded to the Grizzlies in the Marc Gasol trade at the February trade deadline, says Leonard and Antetokounmpo are headed in the right direction.

Many believe Giannis will win the MVP award this year. He averaged 27.7 points, 12.5 rebounds and 5.9 assists while shooting 57.8 percent from the field. The Greek Freak recorded 54 double-doubles, five triple-doubles and led the Bucks to the best record in the NBA.

For Leonard, it’s been a tremendous bounce-back season. The three-time All-Star only played in nine games in 2017-18 with the San Antonio Spurs due to a lingering quadriceps injury.

Everyone wanted to know what type of player Kawhi was going to be this season and he didn’t disappoint.

Leonard put up 26.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists while playing his usual elite defense.
