Justin Holiday tied a franchise record for the Memphis Grizzlies in steals in a quarter during the first quarter of their game against defending champions Golden State Warriors on Wednesday.

Holiday recorded four steals in the opening period, which tied the franchise records in steals in one quarter. Former Grizzlies guard Nick Calathes was the lone record-holder before Holiday joined him on the list. The Greek guard set the record against the Houston Rockets on March 4, 2015.

The sixth-year guard eventually finished with five steals to go along with nine points and five steals. However, his impact on defense was not enough, as the Warriors eventually cruised to a 118-103 victory against the Grizzlies at the FedExForum in Memphis.

Holiday, who is playing in his sixth team since his rookie season, is continuously proving that he is one of the most underrated defenders in the league. The Grizzlies struck a trade earlier in the season to acquire Holiday in the hopes of improving their defense. Memphis acquired Holiday from the Chicago Bulls in exchange for MarShon Brooks and Wayne Selden.

In 38 games with the Chicago Bulls this season, the 29-year-old forward averaged 1.8 steals per game. In October, he tallied five steals in back-to-back games against the Denver Nuggets and the Warriors.

Aside from his impact in defense, Holiday also showed flashes of brilliance in offense recently. In their 115-103 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday, he scored 17 points with three three-pointers. He also had his best scoring game in Memphis, when he scored 22 points against the Orlando Magic on Friday.
