It's easy to say that the Memphis Grizzlies has been one of the most disappointing teams in the NBA. Sitting at 14th place in the Western Conference, the Grizzlies currently have a 18-42 record, and much of that is due to the absence of their starting point guard Mike Conley who suffered a season-ending heel injury.

Apparently for Marc Gasol, their latest 110-102 loss against the Phoenix Suns was the tipping point, who recently stated that he would drown out his sorrows with a glass of red wine.

This isn't the first time Gasol has voiced out his frustration with the direction of the franchise. Shortly after the loss, Gasol sharply condemned the Grizzlies' effort in their current losing stream and the whole idea of tanking to achieve player development, per Ronald Tillery of the Commercial Appeal.

“It's not about somebody playing well or getting your reps or developing players because we have a league for that,” Gasol said, via the Commercial Appeal. “We have a league and a team here in Memphis to develop guys. … This is the NBA, not the G League.”

Gasol's increased frustration with the franchise could be an indication that both parties will part ways sometime in the future. After all, Gasol is 33 years old and doesn't seem to have the patience for a rebuilding phase. The Grizzlies also have nothing to gain by keeping Gasol and could trade him for some vital rebuilding pieces down the road. For now, the Grizzlies and Gasol will have a chance to get back on track when they face the Nuggets on Friday. Hopefully, the Grizzlies can turn the tables in their disappointing season.
