Memphis Grizzlies center Marc Gasol endured a rough game on Monday night against the Houston Rockets. The Spaniard shot only 2-of-5 from the field and turned the ball over seven times.

The Grizzlies ended up losing the game 112-94.

In a postgame interview, Marc Gasol explained the poor shooting and the apparent reluctance to shoot the ball in the second half.

This is bad news for the Grizzlies if this injury lingers. The team is already short on scorers, and Gasol is one of the team's primary sources of offense. He is the team's second-leading scorer, averaging 17.7 points a game. Only Mike Conley provides more points for the team.

However, Gasol's true value comes from more than just shooting the ball. The seven-footer is one of the best defensive centers in the league. He won Defensive Player of the Year in 2013. He provides an imposing presence in the paint.

On the offensive side of the floor, the three-time All-Star is well known for being a deadly post passer. Much of the Grizzlies' offense revolves around Marc Gasol post looks and pick and roll with him and Conley.

Gasol is a key piece to the Grizzlies success. If he misses significant time, it could torpedo any chance the team has of making the playoffs. Hopefully, the injury isn't too severe and Gasol is back to his normal self in no time.
