Shortly after completing a trade with the Washington Wizards, the Memphis Grizzlies made another move and waived veteran guard Avery Bradley to allow them to gain more cap space.

Bradley only appeared in 14 games for the Grizzlies last season, putting up 16.1 points, 4.0 assists and 3.1 rebounds. In his brief time with Memphis, he displayed excellent shooting from beyond the arc as he hit 38 percent of his 3-pointers. He is expected to receive a lot of interest from several contending teams now that he's a free agent.

The Grizzlies are making it clear that they are in rebuild mode this season, which is not a surprise considering that they have been trying to acquire young players and draft picks.

The focus of Memphis right now is centered on Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. These two players that can be the Grizzlies' cornerstones especially if they live up to the expectations. Of course, the results of their improvement will play a key role in the team's success, but whether or not they excel next season, the team will continue to look for draft picks which they can use to add talent to build around those two.

The Grizzlies didn't make any huge move in free agency, but they are making wise decisions that will help the franchise moving forward. They are beginning the post-Grit & Grind era, and they're hoping that the young guys on the team will help the franchise become relevant once again.
