In the midst of an eight-game skid, the Memphis Grizzlies will have to survive a tough stretch before gettin point guard Mike Conley back on the floor, expected to return in two-to-three weeks after suffering an Achilles injury, according to the team.

The Grizzlies will have a rough go the next few weeks, facing the San Antonio Spurs twice in a row, starting today, then facing the likes of the Cleveland Cavaliers, New York Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Toronto Raptors, and the Oklahoma City Thunder — all within the next couple of weeks.

To make matters worse, the team will have to adapt to new coach J.B. Bickerstaff after the firing of former head coach David Fizdale on Monday — a tall task given the caliber of competition.

Conley wasn't himself through the early stretch of the season, with a nagging injury weighing him down, as his percentages took a major dip from his career-best form in 2016-17, after becoming the highest-paid player during that season.

The scoring load will be squarely on the broad shoulders of Marc Gasol until Conley can get back on the court — though it'll be easier said than done for a team that has lost 11 of its last 12 games and is undergoing some major changes through the early get-go.
