There were high expectations for Jaren Jackson Jr. when the Memphis Grizzlies drafted him with the No. 4 overall pick in this year's NBA draft.

And the good news for Memphis fans is that Jackson is already finding himself on the right side of a historical NBA achievement.

The Michigan State product exploded for 36 points in Friday night's 131-125 overtime victory over the Brooklyn Nets, which landed him in esteemed company when it comes to 30-point games.

According to ESPN Stats and Info, Jackson became just the third youngest player to reach the 30-point plateau.

The other two players? Two dudes named LeBron James and Kevin Durant.

It was Jackson's 11th double-digit scoring game of the season, with his previous career-high coming in a 27-point effort against the Sacramento Kings back on Nov. 16.

He's now averaging 12.7 points to go along with 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game while earning 18 starts in 20 games.

Obviously, Jackson's emergence as a potential future star will go a long way towards helping the Grizzlies stay on track this season in trying to capture a playoff spot for the first time since the 2016-17 campaign.

Memphis currently leads the Southwest Division with a 13-8 record, which is good enough for fifth in the Western Conference at the moment.

Of course, there's still a long way to go in the regular season, but this has definitely been a nice start for Jackson and company.

Next up for the Grizzlies is a trip to Philadelphia on Sunday, where they'll take on the Sixers.
