The Cleveland Guardians will begin a three-game series with the Los Angeles Angels on Friday at Angels Stadium in Anaheim, California. We're here to share our MLB odds series, make a Guardians-Angels prediction, and pick while showing you how to watch.

The Guardians swept the New York Mets in their last series. Amazingly, they are entrenched on a six-game winning streak after winning every game in their homestand. The Guardians are also 9-1 over the past 10 games. Now, they look to continue their hot streak against the Angels.

The Angels won two of three against the Houston Astros. Ultimately, they finished the road trip with a 3-3 mark. The Halos are 4-6 over their past 10 games. Thus, they look to build more momentum at home.

The Angels won the season series 3-2 in 2023. However, the Guardians are 2-1 against the Angels after winning two of three at home earlier this month.

Logan Allen makes the start for the Guardians. He is 5-2 with a 4.91 ERA. Remarkably, he tossed six shutout innings in his last start while striking out seven in a win over the Minnesota Twins. Allen has had back-to-back starts where he has not allowed an earned run. Furthermore, he is 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA over two starts against the Angels in his career.

Patrick Sandoval starts for the Angels. He is 2-6 with a 4.59 ERA. Recently, he went six innings while allowing one earned run on three hits while striking out five in a no-decision against the Texas Rangers. Sandoval has a quality start in two of his past three outings. Also, he comes into this battle with a 1-2 record with a 2.96 ERA over five career starts against the Guardians.

Why The Guardians Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Guardians have had some up-and-down moments at the plate this season. So far, they are 17th in batting average and 12th in on-base percentage. The Guardians are also fifth in runs, 11th in home runs, and 13th in slugging percentage. Significantly, they have some players who can make some good things happen.

Tyler Freeman is producing inconsistent results at the top of the lineup, batting .219 with four home runs, 17 RBIs, and 28 runs. Also, he is 1 for 2 against Sandoval in his career. Andres Gimenez is hitting .266 with four home runs, 30 RBIs, and 28 runs, highlighted by a three-run home run in the series finale against the Mets. Now, he will face Sandoval, who he is 2 for 6 against.

Jose Ramirez is currently batting .258 with 12 home runs, 45 RBIs, and 32 runs. Additionally, he is hitting .389 with 14 hits, two home runs, five RBIs, and seven runs over the past 10 games. Ramirez is also 3 for 11 with a double and an RBI against Sandoval. Meanwhile, David Fry will attempt to make an impact. He is batting .349 with five home runs, five RBIs, and 20 runs and will face Sandoval for the first time.

Cleveland continues to have near-elite pitching. Currently, they are fourth in team ERA. The Guardians also have shut the door down late in games. Ultimately, they have the best bullpen in baseball, led by closer Emmanuel Chase.

The Guardians will cover the spread if their lineup can force Sandoval into long pitch counts. Then, they need Allen to dominate again.

Why The Angels Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Angels have had a bad season. Yet, their offense has done okay. The Halos are currently 13th in batting average, 19th in on-base percentage, and 14th in runs. Furthermore, they are also sixth in home runs and 10th in slugging percentage. The Halos need their bats to produce.

Nolan Schanuel is at the top of the order. Yet, he is batting only .244 with five home runs, 18 RBIs, and 16 runs. Taylor Ward is hitting .271 with 10 home runs, 29 RBIs, and 28 runs. Also, he is 1 for 3 against Allen. Willie Calhoun is batting .311 with one home run, five RBIs, and 13 runs. Amazingly, this will be his first time facing Allen.

Jo Adell is batting .242 with nine home runs, 22 RBIs, and 22 runs. Furthermore, he is also facing Allen for the first time. Logan O'Hoppe is hitting .257 with four home runs, 22 RBIs, and 18 runs. Also, he is 1 for 2 against Allen.

The Angels continue to pitch horribly. Unfortunately, they are 26th in team ERA. The Angels also don't hold leads very well. Unfortunately. they have the second-worst bullpen in baseball.

The Angels will cover the spread if Sandoval can attack the strike zone and avoid making critical mistakes. Then, the lineup needs to give him some run support.

Final Guardians-Angels Prediction & Pick

The Guardians went 3-4 over their last seven road games, with all three victories being by two or more runs. Conversely, the Angels went 2-5 over their last five home games while losing by one run on two occasions. The Guardians are favored in this one. Remarkably, Allen has been great, and this bullpen has been nearly unhittable. Expect Sandoval to put the Halos into another hole and Allen to shut them down. The Guardians will cover the spread on the road.
