The Halo TV Show returns today with another episode. Here are some easter eggs that you might have missed in the show adaptation of the critically-acclaimed game franchise.

Halo Episode 2 Easter Eggs

The gaming community loves the easter eggs hidden in shows that adapt their favorite video games. Halo is no different, and fans were on the lookout for Halo Episode 2 Easter Eggs when the episode premiered on Paramount+ earlier today. You might have missed these or some may have even gone over your head. So, we're here to help you spot these easter eggs so you can show them to your friends when you decide to give the episode a second viewing.

Who is Soren?

In this episode, we are introduced to Soren, an old friend of Master Chief who is now the chief of an insurgent community. Even the most hardened Halo fans who never dabbled in the books might not recognize him. Besides, Soren only ever appeared in a short story in Halo: Evolutions.  He will likely play a bigger role in the series than he ever did in the books or the games, as we'll see in the succeeding episodes.

UNSC Shortsword

We get a brief reference to Halo Wars – one of the less popular games in the franchise. At around 6 minutes into the episode, we saw what looked like a UNSC Shortsword – a special bomber unit that drops various kinds of bombs in the game, depending on which leader character you use for that match.

Did you miss this brief Halo: Reach reference?

Another quick nod to a previous Halo game was the name of one of the ships mentioned in this episode: The UNSC Stalwart Dawn. This ship was present in Halo: Reach.

The Introduction of Cortana

While she hasn't made a proper appearance here yet, Cortana's almost ready to be unveiled, no thanks to the Covenant threat and Master Chief's actions. Expect to see her next episode.

Halo Episode 2 sure ramped up the references deep into Halo's lore, and we know that you'd enjoy hunting for these easter eggs, too.
