Harrison Barnes posted a farewell message to Dallas Mavericks fans after learning of his trade to the Sacramento Kings, taking to Twitter to express his gratitude for the Mavs and the first steps to his next destination.

“Thank you to the entire Dallas Mavericks organization, Mark Cuban , Coach Carlisle, my teammates and all the #MFFLs who have made Dallas feel like home for the last 2.5 seasons! I will never forget how the incredible fans in this city held it down at AAC every game, win or lose.

Excited for the next chapter Sacramento Kings!!!!! — Isaiah 43:19”

The North Carolina product resisted getting pulled out of the game in the fourth quarter after the franchise had consummated the trade, hoping to join his teammates for the last 12 minutes of regulation.

Barnes signed a four-year, $94.4 million deal with the Mavs after a four-year opening stint with the Golden State Warriors, coming to Dallas alongside teammate Andrew Bogut.

He developed from a fourth scoring option into the team's leading scorer the past two seasons, posting 19.2 and 18.9 points per game, yet recently tailing off this season with only 17.7 points per outing to his name.

The Kings are in dire need of a featured scorer and will need his offensive punch to make it a race for the last two spots in a crowded Western Conference, all while the Mavs clear some cap space and position themselves to re-sign the newly acquired Kristaps Porzingis and get a young core with some promise.
