The NBA salary cap has been expanding remarkably as of late, which has contributed to the outrageous contracts players across the league have been receiving.

Guys like Timofey Mozgov were able to steal $64 million contracts because of that. If you have any shred of talent in this league, you can expect teams to throw monster contracts your way because there is so much more money to spend.

When looking at what some players have been offered, one can't help but scratch his/her head because a lot of them have not produced much in terms of statistics.

However, Hassan Whiteside of the Miami Heat has had increasingly better seasons as the years have progressed and was quite the sought after free agent this summer because of what he has shown he can do. In his last season, he averaged 14.2 points, 11.8 rebounds, and a league-leading 3.7 blocks per game.

In a league where skilled big men have seemed to become an endangered species, Whiteside remains one of the few.

It therefore came as no surprise when he received a four-year $98 million max contract from Miami. That contract is a world away from his previous one where he was making, by NBA standards, a measly $981,348.

That differential in salaries now makes Whiteside the player who had the biggest raise both in dollars and percentages, per HoopsHype.com. Believe it or not, his salary increased by 2,173% this season! Simply amazing.

From being a 2nd round pick, to playing in the D-League, to even China, Hassan Whiteside has bounced around. You can be sure now though that he is here to stay.
