While former Atlanta Hawks Ccnter Al Horford had yet to decide whether he would re-sign with the Hawks or not, the team shortly considered trading All-Star power forward Paul Millsap.

Millsap, 31, is one of the most well-rounded bigs in the NBA. The uncertainty of bringing back Horford had a definitive impact on the team's decision to not trade Millsap. Horford eventually decided to sign with the Boston Celtics on a max deal worth $113 million over four years. Apparently, he had zero interest in teaming with Dwight Howard in Atlanta.

During that time of uncertainty, there were two teams that discussed deals with Atlanta: the Toronto Raptors and the Houston Rockets, according to ESPN's Zach Lowe.

Also, the Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns were in the mix for Millsap's services, with Denver offering starter Kenneth Faried along with other players and draft picks.

The Raptors could've used Millsap at the four spot to stretch the floor alongside Luis Scola and Jonas Valanciunas.

The Houston Rockets signed forward Ryan Anderson to a four-year, $80 million deal to fill their own gap at power forward.
