Free agent forward Jabari Parker has agreed to a two-year, $13 million deal with the Atlanta Hawks, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

The power forward was hopeful to return to the Washington Wizards, whom he spent the last half of the season with after being traded by the Chicago Bulls at the deadline.

Parker averaged 15 points and 7.2 rebounds in his 25 games at the nation's capital, but was forced to pick his next destination as the market quickly narrowed down at this stage of free agency.

The Chicago native will have to potential forge his way at his natural position of small forward to carve out some playing time, as John Collins is locked in as the starter at the four.

Rookie Cam Reddish is the only potential cog in his way to a starting spot at the wing, though it all depends on what coach Lloyd Pierce has envisioned for this current roster.

The Hawks have long wanted to develop their young pieces in this rebuild, having traded away Taurean Prince for shooting guard Allen Crabbe last month.

If Parker is to make a revamped effort to return to prominence after two torn ACLs and a distant-looking season averaging 20.1 points per game in 2016-17, he has the opportunity to do it in Atlanta, if he's given the right chunk of playing time.
