Atlanta Hawks rookie small forward Cam Reddish says he's “super excited” to make his NBA debut Monday night.

The Hawks are hosting Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans. Reddish, who didn't play in Summer League, is looking forward to playing in a competitive setting again.

Reddish averaged 13.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game for the Duke Blue Devils last season. He shot 35.6 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from beyond the arc and 77.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Reddish underwent surgery for a core muscle injury before the draft. We have to remember Reddish was the third option at Duke, playing behind Williamson and RJ Barrett. Reddish wasn’t able to fully showcase his offensive prowess in college since his usage rate was low. That’s going to change with the Hawks, who believe the youngster fits in perfectly with their core.

The Hawks' roster has a lot of young talent on it. It's going to be interesting to see if Reddish, Trae Young, John Collins, Kevin Huerter, De’Andre Hunter and Jabari Parker can lead the Hawks to the playoffs this season. It would be a great story if they did.

Reddish said back in June people take his calm demeanor “the wrong way” and that he’s ready to be “aggressive” in the NBA with the Hawks. Monday will be the first opportunity for Reddish to show everyone in Atlanta what he's all about.
