Carmelo Anthony has never had a problem securing the bag. It's never mattered what team is writing the check, Melo's always been paid well. He's always been one of the highest paid players in the league, but the money he's getting from his time in Atlanta is downright absurd.

According to a tweet from ESPN, Anthony made $5.1 million per day during his short tenure with the Atlanta Hawks. That's more than some NBA players make in a year.

It's good work if you can get it. Melo may not be wanted in Oklahoma City or Atlanta, but that's not affecting his bottom line any time soon. The Thunder dealt Melo to avoid paying an inordinate amount in luxury taxes. Of course, the Melo experiment didn't work in Oklahoma City and that played a role in the Thunder's decision to deal the former superstar.

The Hawks, on the other hand, were willing to pay Melo this year so they could ship Dennis Schroder and his hefty contract out of town. That being said, the Hawks did not jump at the opportunity to have Anthony in their lineup. They aren't looking to compete this season and the fit was not right for Atlanta or Anthony.

But regardless, Atlanta will get to watch Anthony play for Houston for pennies, while he remains on Atlanta's books this season.

Questioning Melo's on-court legacy is quite popular each offseason. But one thing no one can question is Anthony's ability to negotiate and secure the bag.
