For those not in the know, Atlanta Hawks big man Clint Capela is a triple-double machine…at least on NBA 2K.

On Friday, Capela helped the Hawks take down the Minnesota Timberwolves with a rare block triple-double, finishing with 13 points, 19 rebounds and 10 blocks. After the contest, the Swiss big man was asked whether he had a triple-double in any basketball level before, to which he replied with a rather funny quip.

Clint Capela has every reason to be happy and smile about, as his monster game was not only his first NBA triple-double. With the incredible statistical feat, he also became the first player in Hawks history to record a triple-double with blocks since Dikembe Mutombo did it back in 2000.

Additionally, he has been balling for the Hawks, who have now won three straight games–twice against the Timberwolves. In the past two contests against Detroit and Minnesota, Capela has recorded 45 rebounds and 15 blocks, replicating what only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has done before.

According to ESPN Stats & Info, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar achieved the elusive statistical feat when he had 47 rebounds and 17 blocks in 1975 against the Seattle SuperSonics and…the Hawks.

Prior to Friday's showdown, Capela was averaging 14.3 points, 14.2 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game. After a couple of monstrous showings, however, he figures to have an increased role and improved stats moving forward.

The Hawks are now 8-7 on the season, good for sixth in the heavily reloaded Eastern Conference. The team faces the Milwaukee Bucks next on Sunday in what could be  a difficult task  for Trae Young, John Collins, Capela and the rest of the Atlanta-based franchise.
