The Miami Heat and the Atlanta Hawks could miss the services of two of their most important players prior to their Monday matchup, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Hawks point guard Dennis Schroder remains doubtful after suffering a bruised left foot during their loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday. He was assisted off the floor as he could not put any weight on it, after he inadvertently stepped on the foot of Caris LeVert while driving to the basket. It remains unclear what his exact condition is, and whether or not he can return to action soon.

The Heat on the other hand already sat their big man Hassan Whiteside during their game on Saturday versus the Indiana Pacers. He is currently recovering from a bruised knee, which he suffered during the third quarter of their season opener against the Orlando Magic last week.

Should Whiteside and Schroder miss the game, it will be a huge blow to their respective teams — however, it could also be an opportunity for their teammates to step up in their absence.

Malcolm Delaney will most likely be inserted in the starting lineup by head coach Mike Budenholzer to replace Schroder, while Kelly Olynyk could start his second consecutive game for the Heat if Whiteside is to miss any time.
