Hawks’ Jabari Parker confirms he now has a ‘game plan’ to take care of his body

Jabari Parker, Hawks

Atlanta Hawks forward Jabari Parker has dealt with injuries his whole career. Now, he believes that he has a plan to avoid injury in his first season in Atlanta.

“I know my routine. Pretty much mature to how to take care of my body, because that was a problem for me in the beginning,” he said. “Just trying to get the right amount of recovery and I wasn’t doing that, which resulted in injures. But right now, I pretty much have a game plan.”

Parker began his rookie season on a tough note. After only 25 games, he tore his ACL while with the Milwaukee Bucks and missed the rest of the season. After making a spirited comeback, he tore his ACL yet again in 2016-17.

However, Parker persevered and came back yet again. He never lost faith in his ability, saying:

“I never lost sight to who I am. I always will remain confident in my abilities and just at the right moment at the right time, I’ll get a chance to show my abilities again.”

After being signed by Chicago, his time with the Bulls was marred by a sour relationship with the coaching staff and plenty of DNPs. Now, Parker has a chance to prove that he belongs in the NBA. All eyes will be on him with the Hawks to see if he can help the young group mature and contend for a playoff spot.
