The Atlanta Hawks and Washington Wizards went down to the wire as both teams look to improve their seeding in the Eastern Conference Playoff picture. With the game winding down, Hawks big man John Collins hit a clutch three to put Atlanta on top and secure the win for them as they would go on to win 120-116.

This was especially significant for Atlanta, as the win clinched a playoff berth for them. This will be the Hawks' first appearance since the 2016-2017 season as they continue their revelation since the firing of Lloyd Pierce.

Just one game after Russell Westbrook broke the all-time triple-double record, the Wizards once again couldn't find a way to seal the deal down the stretch.

Trae Young led the way for the Hawks with 33 points and eight boards to go with nine dimes and Collins chipped in 18 points, none more valuable than the dagger three right in front of the Wizards bench.

Westbrook couldn't replicate a triple-double and finished with 34 points with five boards and 15 assists as the Wizards lost back-to-back games against Atlanta.

The Wizards are essentially locked in as the 10 seed, although the last three teams in the play-in tournament are insanely close to each other.

As for the Hawks, they are jumping between the 4th and 6th seed as they await their first-round matchup, which will likely be decided on the final day of the season.

The hero of the day was Collins, just as everybody expected, who closed the game with a three-pointer.
