Atlanta Hawks new addition Marco Belinelli admitted in a recent interview with Gazzetta Dello Sport that this upcoming EuroBasket might be his last stint with the Italian national team, according to translation by Eurohoops.

“My last competition with Italy? Maybe. We’ll see what happens but in my mind, this could be my last Eurobasket. There is a question mark, but I only focus at one thing at a time.” Belinelli told the Italian media.

Belinelli has been a member of Italy's national team since coming into the forefront in 2006 in the FIBA World Cup, where he averaged 13.5 points per game as a 20-year-old. Since then, he's made it to four EuroBasket tournaments, logging 28 games for the Azzurri.

A journeyman in the NBA after getting drafted by the Golden State Warriors in 2007, the 6-foot-5 shooting guard bounced back from a tough year after joining the Charlotte Hornets, averaging 10.5 points and shooting a career-high 89.3 percent from the stripe in 74 games off the bench.

Belinelli stated that he won’t participate in the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers for the 2019 competition in China, likely making this the last time he gets to don the Italian jersey in international play.
