Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young hurt his wrist in their 113-105 loss to the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday. Per Chris Kirschner of The Athletic, Young reportedly underwent X-Rays on his wrist. The All-Star revealed that there's nothing to be worried about his injury, citing no severe damage, but admitted it was still causing a lot of pain.

Head coach Lloyd Pierce revealed during the game that Young sustained the injury during a blocking foul in the third quarter.

Young had already been struggling with his shot prior to the injury and his shooting woes continued into Saturday night. The multi-faceted playmaker shot just 5-of-19 in the Hawks' loss. He finished with just 15 points, but still dished out 10 assists.

Young has certainly cooled off in a big way after averaging 33.0 points on 50.7 percent shooting in the first four games of the 2020-21 season. Including his sour shooting night against the Hornets, the 22-year old has now shot a combined 29-of-87 (33 percent) through his last five games, while turning in just over 18 points a night.

Nonetheless, despite his recent struggles from the field, paired with his ailing wrist, this must be a sigh of relief for the Hawks. No matter how bad he is shooting right now, Atlanta cannot afford to lose their star point guard to a significant injury at this point.

After starting out the season 5-1, the Hawks are now losers of four straight. Reports over the past few days suggested there was some turmoil brewing in the locker room, with big man John Collins expressing displeasure over how Young has gone about in running the offense.

Atlanta will need to right the ship immediately if they want to stop the bleeding through this early part of the season.
