Atlanta Hawks big man John Collins just agreed to a five-year, $125 million contract with the franchise after their run to the Eastern Conference Finals. This comes on the heels of Trae Young agreeing to his own massive extension that will pay him over $200 million.

Young took to Twitter to celebrate his teammate's own bag:

It was reported Tuesday that Collins had this five-year, $125 million offer on the table and that he was in the process of making a decision on it. It's clear he looked around and saw he wasn't getting anything better than that, so he made the sensible play to accept this contract and lock himself into being Young's teammate for the long haul.

Collins and Young helped take the Hawks from bottom-feeder to the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference in 2020-21. They then destroyed the New York Knicks in the first round of the playoffs and shocked the top-seeded Philadelphia 76ers in the second round. Atlanta put up a good fight against the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference Finals, only to fall short in six games.

The Hawks have an exciting young core led by Young, with Collins as one of the key complementary players. Collins' rim-running prowess makes him an ideal lob target for Young's pinpoint passes, but the big man also has the ability to step outside and knock down 3-point shots. The 23-year-old averaged 17.6 points and 7.4 rebounds while shooting 55.6% from the field and 39.9% from 3-point land this past season.

Atlanta will be a fun team to watch for years to come.
