After a stellar playoffs that saw them go all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals, Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks are finally getting the respect they deserve with a Christmas Day game.

The Hawks haven't had the opportunity to play in a Christmas game for a long time. In fact, they last played in one back in 1989 when Dominique Wilkins was still dominating in Atlanta and averaging over 26 points a game.

Now, Young and his soaring Hawks are scheduled to face the New York Knicks in MSG on Christmas, renewing a rivalry that started in the 2021 playoffs when Trae made himself a villain.

While Trae would have wanted the game to be in Atlanta, he's just equally happy to be suiting up for Christmas–something he sort of wished to Santa last season.

It will certainly be interesting to watch the Hawks and Knicks take on each other in front of thousands of fans in the iconic Madison Square Garden. However, Trae Young can't expect it to be a silent one, especially after his rather savage antic when he closed out the ‘Bockers in the first round of the 2021 postseason.

To recall, Young took a bow after he and his Atlanta teammates ended New York's playoff run in a rather quick fashion.

Then again, Young could very well be the Grinch that steals a happy Christmas from the Knicks–just liken hat he did in the postseason.
