Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young is not afraid of speaking his mind and, well, criticizing officials in their face when he sees something wrong. That is exactly what happened when Young did not agree with a foul call on Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid.
Late in the fourth quarter of Game 3 between the Hawks and Sixers, Embiid appeared to trip on himself while attacking the basket. However, a foul was called on John Collins despite not touching the Sixers center at all.
Of course, Young was not happy with the call from Zach Zarba and even got into his face to tell him to open his eyes. The young superstar even gestured for the referee to open his eyes. Yikes!

And here’s the savage reaction of the Hawks sharpshooter:

Sure enough, Trae Young was called for a technical foul for that disrespectful reaction to the official. Tobias Harris went on to take the technical free throw, while the ruling on the foul on Joel Embiid stood and the Sixers big man took a couple of free-throws.
Hawks fans can understand Young’s frustration though. With five minutes remaining on the clock and Atlanta behind by 13 points, they needed every possession in order to stage a comeback. With that said, they couldn’t afford to be doomed by such controversial calls.
In the end, the Hawks lost the contest 127-111. Nevertheless, this moment should only fuel Young when they meet again for Game 4.
