The Atlanta Hawks are making some noise as they hope to bolster the roster with assets this offseason.

According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, Atlanta was “in play” to acquire Gordon Hayward from the Boston Celtics. Now, based on latest reports, the Hawks are also pursuing Danilo Gallinari and Rajon Rondo and are actually the favorites to land them.

Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer echoed the same statement and mentioned that the Hawks “very well may be signing Danilo Gallinari as soon as free agency opens,” via Sportando.

Both Gallinari and Rondo would seem to be an ideal fit in Atlanta.

The 32-year-old Gallo averaged 18.7 points and 5.2 rebounds with the Oklahoma City Thunder last season. Gallinari also shot 40.5 percent from beyond the arc on 7.1 attempts per game, making it consecutive seasons of at least 40 percent shooting from deep.

Atlanta could use the floor-spacing Gallinari provides. The Hawks ranked eighth in 3-pointers attempted, but the end up dead-last in 3-point percentage.

Meanwhile, Rajon Rondo provides significant playmaking that the Hawks sorely need. His ability to dictate the offense should bode well in Atlanta, whose offense is relying mostly on Trae Young and John Collins. With Rondo probably serving as backup for Young, the Atlanta offense doesn't need to be stagnant when the shooting guard comes off the floor.

Rondo is also perfect for the Hawks who are aiming to make it to the playoffs in 2020-21. The young Atlanta team is yet to make the postseason with Young and Collins leading the way, so having a two-time champion in their roster should help their lack of experience in playing playoff basketball.

Atlanta has ample funds available this offseason. In fact, the Hawks are projected to have the most cap space in the NBA, per Spotrac. This is good news for Atlanta because they might have to overpay Gallo and Rondo.
