Atlanta Hawks swingman Kent Bazemore has generated a lot of interest from teams around the league as the trade deadline approaches, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

“Teams are targeting the availability of Brooklyn's DeMarre Carroll, Utah's Alec Burks, Orlando's Evan Fournier and Atlanta's Kent Bazemore, among others.”

Versatility and 3-point shooting are very valuable skills for players to have these days. Those who can play multiple positions and stretch the floor by knocking down outside shots are considered as very valuable commodities these days.

The 28-year-old Old Dominion product went undrafted back in 2012. However, Bazemore was able to make the Golden State Warriors’ roster from 2012-2014, having multiple assignments to the G League which was known at that time as the NBA's Developmental League.

Bazemore was then traded to the Los Angeles Lakers and appeared in 23 games for them before signing as a free agent with the Hawks. His improved play and continuous development has made him one of the better swingmen in the NBA today, leading to a lucrative offer he signed in the summer of 2016.

As the Hawks continue to rebuild, it won’t be a bad idea to part ways with Bazemore and save some money in the process. They could also get a few young players whom they can develop and include in their future plans, while Bazemore could benefit from a change of environment, and become a solid contributor to whichever team secures his services.

Bazemore is averaging 12.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.9 steals per game for the Hawks.
