Atlanta Hawks power forward/center John Collins has some serious bounce, as was indicated during All-Star weekend in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest last month. So it should come as no surprise that even with a shoddy pass from teammate Kevin Huerter during Sunday's win over the New Orleans Pelicans, Collins was able to adjust — in mid-air — to corral the ball and jam it through for an absurdly impressive dunk:

Collins logged another double-double Sunday, finishing with 23 points and 10 rebounds, even adding a season-best four blocks. Huerter's accuracy actually shooting the ball was much more effective, as he went 11-for-18 from the field, giving him 27 points, with the duo teaming up to lead Atlanta to victory.

It's not hard to see that while the Hawks may have the future of their franchise in the form of rookie point guard Trae Young, the 21-year-old Collins will almost certainly be apart of that mix as well. He missed the first 15 games of the 2018-19 campaign due to injury, but is in line to average nearly 20 points and 10 rebounds per game in his second NBA season.

For reasons such as what was displayed above, Collins entered the night 10th in the league in two-point field-goal percentage (61.7 percent). But unlike the majority of the names in front of him, Collins is not just a dunker. While his long-range shooting is a work in progress, Collins is able to shoot from outside the paint and still maintains one of the league's best percentages from inside the arc, a terrifying proposition for opposing defenses as he progresses.
