Atlanta Hawks rookie big man John Collins is probably like most millennials in the sense that he’d do crazy stuff if it meant a cool social media post – and money. Just recently, Collins posted an Instagram story which shows him jumping straight into a pool despite the freezing conditions in Atlanta.

The presence of snow around the pool suggests that the water in it is way colder than Ersan Ilyasova’s field goal percentage this season, but that obviously didn’t deter Collins one bit.

Collins pocketed $400 for completing the stunt because apparently, even for a pro-NBA player who makes millions of dollars a year, $400 still means something.

The sight of Collins doing a stunt like this might not sit well with some Hawks fans, though, as the Wake Forest product is currently sidelined due to a sprained AC joint in his left shoulder.

Collins has been one of this season’s surprises. In 21 games played so far in his rookie year, Collins, who was drafted 19th overall in this year’s draft, has managed to average 11.5 points and 7.1 rebounds, while shooting 59.2 percent from the field. The 20-year-old power forward has quickly become one of Hawks head coach Mike Budenholzer’s most trusted players, and is now seen as among Atlanta’s cornerstones of its rebuild.
