There has suddenly become a growing rivalry between promising big men Joel Embiid and Hassan Whiteside after their comical on-court exchange spewed over to social media earlier this week.

This saw both players take personal jabs at each other that has created much entertainment and excitement for their next meeting in the regular season. According to Ira Winderman of the Sun-Sentinel, Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra voiced that he sees no problem with the verbal barbs being thrown back and forth.

The constant jabbering between the two only makes for more intensity when Joel Embiid and Hassan Whiteside take the court against each other this upcoming season. Spoelstra likely sees it as another way to bring the best out of Whiteside, who has the opportunity to become the face of the franchise for the Heat.

The 28-year-old is coming off his best individual season where he averaged 17.0 points on 55.7 percent shooting from the field with a league-best 14.1 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks in 77 games, playing 32.6 minutes per contest. He finished tied for third in the league with 58 double-doubles while also grabbing a Miami Heat single-season record with 1,088 rebounds and 66 double-figure rebound games.

For what it's worth, the Heat and Sixers first play each other on Feb. 2 this upcoming season.
