Following a tear of his plantar fascia in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, Miami Heat guard Goran Dragic is rehabbing his injury in an attempt to play again in the series.

According to a report from Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press, Dragic is desperately finding a way to get back as soon as possible. However, by the looks of it, Bam Adebayo — who is nursing a shoulder injury also sustained in the Finals opener — is closer to returning to the Heat compared to the Slovenian.

Per the latest update, both Goran Dragic and Bam Adebayo have been listed as doubtful for Game 3 of the NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers.

With their stars hobbled, the Heat have struggled to gain traction in the series thus far. In the first two games as they fell 2-0, they were outscored by a combined 28 points.

While there is hope that Adebayo can return to the court before the Finals conclude, Dragic's return is much less likely. With his ailment often being compared to the one sustained by Pau Gasol during the 2012 season, tears of the plantar fascia typically require four to six weeks to heal — a timeline that would seem to rule out any possible return for the guard during the Finals.

With Dragic's status still unclear, Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra has inserted rookie Tyler Herro into the starting lineup. A key contributor for Miami throughout the playoffs, Herro's move from the bench has shortened Miami's rotation that had already been compressed to seven players before the injuries.
