Ouch. Goran Dragic’s foot injury in Game 1 of the NBA Finals dealt a huge blow to a Miami Heat side already considered underdogs against the Los Angeles Lakers. Now, it looks like the Heat will have to get by without one of their best players.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the veteran guard suffered a plantar tear on his left foot.

Dragic suffered the injury in the second quarter when he was trying to drive past Rajon Rondo. It didn’t appear serious at first glance. But the crafty playmaker from Slovenia exited the game and went to the locker room. ESPN’s Rachel Nichols reported that Dragic was limping significantly. He only played 15 minutes, finishing with six points, three assists, and two steals.

Wojnarowski, however, said Dragic hasn't ruled out suiting up for the Heat in the next games.

An unconfirmed report earlier said Dragic is likely done for the rest of the series. If that holds true, it will be a punch in the gut for the boys from South Beach as he has been huge this entire NBA Playoffs.

He led the Heat in their huge upset of the Milwaukee Bucks in Eastern Conference Semifinals. He averaged a team-high 19.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.4 assists. He even upped his offense in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics, putting up 20.5 markers and 4.7 dimes.

More importantly, Dragic is one of the team’s leaders being one of the longest-tenured players with the Heat along with 17-year veteran Udonis Haslem.
