A young Jimmy Butler fan flew 4,405 miles to see the Miami Heat take on the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night. However, Butler was a late scratch and did not play in the game. The fan was distraught to learn that his favorite player was out for the contest. But Jimmy Butler more than made up for his absence after the Heat edged out a 98-95 victory over the Celtics.

Jimmy Butler was reportedly watching the Heat-Celtics broadcast and decided to make it up to the fan. It ended up being a great night for the Butler fan, as the kid got to meet the star while Miami earned a victory.

Bam Adebayo stepped up for Miami amid Butler's absence. The Heat's big man dropped 30 points on 12-22 shooting from the field to lead the charge. Adebayo added 15 rebounds and 1 block in the win.

Haywood Highsmith added 15 points off the bench while a late Tyler Herro steal ultimately sealed the deal for the Heat.

The Heat improved their record to 27-22 with the win over the Eastern Conference leading Celtics. Miami is currently 6th in the conference, but they are trending in the right direction as a result of their recent string of play. They are hopeful that Jimmy Butler can return to the rotation sooner rather than later.

Butler is averaging just under 22 points per game on 52 percent field goal shooting. Additionally, he provides no shortage of leadership for the Heat.

Miami will aim to continue playing well on Friday against the Orlando Magic.
