The Miami Heat are back to their winning ways, as they have notched a big 111 – 105 win over the Utah Jazz. Key to that win was Duncan Robinson, who scored twenty-two big points on 6-of-11 shooting from deep. It seems like the Heat sharpshooter has finally found his groove after struggling to start the season.

The big key to Robinson and the Heat's success? Robinson's pre-game decision-making, if you ask point guard Kyle Lowry. According to Lowry, Robinson was the one who selected the game ball before the game. (via Ira Winderman)

“Kyle Lowry said Duncan Robinson was the Heat player who selected the game ball today, said he might now let him do it again. Robinson was 6 of 11 on 3s.”

The NBA quietly switched their game balls from Spalding to Wilson, and a few players have attributed their struggles to the new ball. Los Angeles Clippers star Paul George said as much a few weeks ago, saying:

“Not to make an excuse about the ball, but it’s a different basketball. It don't have the same touch/softness that the Spalding ball had, and you'll see this year. It's gonna be a lot of bad misses.”

Duncan Robinson was one of the guys that struggled hugely. Whether the new ball was a factor or not is up for debate, but clearly the ball he chose felt similar to the old balls the Heat were using. Moving forward, we can expect Robinson to be the main decision-maker for the Heat when it comes to basketballs.
