Kyle Lowry has been officially ruled out for the rest of Game 3 of the Miami Heat's playoff series against the Atlanta Hawks because of a leg injury.

Lowry left in the third quarter with what the team said is a left leg injury. Minutes later, the Heat declared him out for the remainder of the contest.

Before his exit, Kyle Lowry played 23 minutes for the Heat and recorded six points, three rebounds and five assists. While the Heat trailed the Hawks at halftime 61-54, they were able to turn things around in the penultimate period.

Still, Lowry's injury has to be concerning for the Heat, especially since it's unknown how he got the injury. The severity of the issue remains unknown and it's possible Miami is just being cautious–not wanting to risk things with the team already on the lead.

However, should the injury be serious and force Lowry to be sidelined, that won't bode well for the team's playoff aspirations. While Lowry's numbers don't stand out so far, he remains a key cog for Miami and his presence on the floor will be much-needed should they go deeper in the postseason.

Hopefully the issue won't cause Lowry to miss more games in the postseason. The Heat still have the likes of Tyler Herro and Gabe Vincent ready to fill in the void their star guard left, but Lowry's championship experience is something they can't replace.
