The Miami Heat have played inside American Airlines Arena for for over 20 years, but now the popular venue is seeking a new sponsor, according to a report from Jeff Tavvs of local10.com.

Although the team isn't moving locations, the name on the front of the Heat's home arena will be changing. American Airlines announced that they were relinquishing the naming rights on the building on Wednesday, and there are already new suitors being considered.

“The home of the Miami Heat is getting a new name: American Airlines is no longer vying for the naming rights it bought more than two decades ago,” Miami-Dade Deputy Mayor Ed Marquez said Monday.

Though their name will no longer be on the arena, American Airlines will reportedly still be the Heat's official airline partner.

The Heat will be looking for improvement in the coming season, no matter the name on their home arena. Miami finished with a 39-43 overall record, which left the team with a No. 10 overall seed in the Eastern Conference. Head coach Erik Spoelstra will have his work cut out for him, though, as many teams in the East added star players this the offseason, including the Brooklyn Nets, who acquired Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

Let's see if the Heat can find their way back into the postseason hunt, albeit with a new name on their arena.
