Patrick Beverley had an impactful year for the Minnesota Timberwolves this past season. As it turns out, however, the veteran point guard could be considering a move away from Minnesota this summer. At this point, it seems that Pat Bev already has his sights on the Miami Heat.
On a recent episode of ESPN's First Take, Beverley came out with a bit of a come-get-me plea for the Heat. Co-host Jason Williams was discussing what pieces the Heat could add in the offseason when Pat Bev decided to throw his name into the mix:
“Will they trade for Patrick Beverley?” he asked, referring to Miami. “Say it. Okay, say it. This ain't the NBA channel, this is ESPN, we can say whatever we want.”
Beverley is entering the final year of his contract, and at the moment, there are no clear indications that the Timberwolves are going to offer him an extension. As a matter of fact, it's also possible that Minnesota decides to cash in on the 33-year-old now, as opposed to letting him walk away as a free agent next summer.
If a summer trade is indeed in the books for Pat Bev then it is clear that he wouldn't mind taking his talents to South Beach to join the Miami Heat.
