Patrick Beverley made quite an impact on the Minnesota Timberwolves this past season, helping them reach the playoffs for the first time in four years. So much so, that teams from around the league could have taken notice. One such side is apparently the Miami Heat.

According to an unnamed league executive, the Heat could be keeping an eye on Beverley as they look to beef up their squad for the 2022-23 season:

“The Heat would love to get Patrick Beverley,” the anonymous source told Ryan Aston of heavy.com. “The Timberwolves, obviously, they love what he brought last year, but if they could sell high, they might be willing to give him up. They have a new regime [ex-Nuggets president Tim Connelly] there, so they can look at things a little more realistically.”

The executive also pointed out that Pat Riley is a fan of Beverley, given how the Heat president was the one who drafted the feisty guard back in 2009. Pat Bev wasn't able to suit up for the team, though, and he decided to go abroad before returning to the NBA four years later. Nevertheless, the source also revealed that Riley had already attempted to trade for Beverley in the past.

The 33-year-old veteran is still under contract with the Timberwolves, although he's going to be on an expiring deal next season. According to the source, any potential trade deal will likely require the Heat to include Duncan Robinson in the package:

“If Minnesota put a future first-round pick, 2025 or something, and a role player like Jarrod Vanderbilt, with Miami sending back Duncan Robinson and one of their young bench guys, like [Omer] Yurtseven…” the executive suggested.

This could be a very interesting scenario for both teams. Who would win this deal?
