The Miami Heat own the top spot in the Eastern Conference. While that usually means that they get the easiest matchup plus homecourt advantage in the first round, it's a little different this season with the Brooklyn Nets ominously lurking as a potential eight-seed.
Are the Heat giving a side glance at what's going on around the bottom of the postseason standings? According to Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro, it's not a huge concern.
“We aren't really paying too much attention to it. Obviously Brooklyn is the team that we're looking at and seeing who they'll match up against. I mean, whoever we'll play in the first round, it is what it is. We'll have to see everyone to get to where we want to go,” said Tyler Herro.
There's zero doubt that the Heat players at the very least keep an eye on how the matchups are shaping up. The idea of facing Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in the very first round, especially as a reward for nabbing the first seed, isn't going to be appealing to anybody. But Bam Adebayo knows they're going to have to run through the gauntlet regardless.

“I mean, in the playoffs you can't run anyway in my opinion. You can't try to duck somebody. You win that matchup, you've got to play them in the next round, or the round after that. You still got to face that. I don't feel like anybody here is running from anything,” said the Heat center.

The Miami Heat are two seasons removed from their run to the NBA Finals in the Disney bubble. Since then they've added a champion and All-Star in Kyle Lowry and have seen internal improvement from their core players in Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro. They've been on the biggest stage before and have only gotten better. The Heat are ready for all comers.
