The Miami Heat announced on Monday that they have signed two players that will provide them with more options at the guard position in the future.

Derrick Walton Jr. and Matt Williams both agreed to terms with the team, on a two-way and $50,000 (maximum guaranteed amount) deals, respectively. They are both expected to see action for the Heat’s G-League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce, to further develop their games and possibly receive a call-up once the team feels they’re ready to play at the highest level.

Walton, a Michigan product, went undrafted in last month’s draft. He appeared in four Summer League games for the Orlando Magic, where he averaged 10.0 points on 46.9 percent shooting from the field, along with 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 20.5 minutes per game.

Williams on the other hand is a 3-point specialist and a product of the University of Central Florida. He was part of the Heat’s Summer League teams this year in Orlando and Las Vegas. Williams started in all eight games he appeared in and had decent averages of 9.9 points, while shooting 45 percent from beyond the arc, together with 2.6 rebounds per game.
