Miami Heat swingman Derrick Jones Jr. is no stranger to making highlight reels for his high-flying antics.
Unfortunately for San Antonio Spurs big man Jakob Poeltl, his teammates totally forgot to block Jones out after a Bam Adebayo miss in the third quarter of Sunday afternoon's game. This was the result:

Jones does not just go upstairs. He absolutely punishes the rim and anyone in his path, which in this case was Poeltl, who is probably thinking āThanks a lot, Marco Bellinelli.ā
The 22-year-old has been an immensely valuable rotation player for the Heat this season. Jones is not much of a perimeter threat, but he flies around the floor and can make plays on the glass, as he clearly showed on Sunday afternoon. Jones has also been an instrumental figure in Miami's team defense because of his length and versatility.
Jones is expected to receive an invitation to the NBA Slam Dunk contest during All-Star weekend, meaning there might be plenty more where this came from.
