Charlotte Hornets rookie LaMelo ball has lived up to the hype this season after becoming the frontrunner to win this season’s rookie of the year award. Ball, who’s currently averaging 15 points, five rebounds, and six assists per game, has been in the media landscape even before he got drafted mostly because of his father, LaVar Ball’s antics throughout the years. And once again, LaVar is at it with his comments, this time pertaining to his son’s boss—six-time NBA champion and Hornets general manager Michael Jordan

In an interview with ESPN LA, LaVar says that he does not want his son to receive advice from Jordan because apparently, the so-called GOAT in basketball could be compared to “expired milk.”

“Hey, when you have milk in your refrigerator, and when the damn thing expires, I hope you throw it away. Goddammit, when’s the last time he won a championship in the game?” says LaVar. “If he had to say so, to say this is what you do to get better, the Charlotte Hornets been around a long time before my son got there. Tell some of them guys so you can win, don’t wait to tell my boy. Tell the dudes, tell the other guys,” added LaVar.

Yikes, not sure if this could negatively affect the relationship between Jordan and the rookie. But for what it’s worth, the Hornets are one of the most interesting teams this season—currently in fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings with the record of 20-19.

Ball’s comments came prior to the Hornets game on Thursday, where they will face the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center.
