Charlotte Hornets guard Jeremy Lamb has officially been ruled out for Sunday night's game against the Phoenix Suns due to a recent injury.

Jeremy Lamb was initially listed as questionable for the matchup against the Suns after suffering a right hamstring strain in the team's game against the Orlando Magic back on Dec. 31. Now, he's set to miss his third straight game due to the issue.

Lamb is averaging 15.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game this season while playing 29.3 minutes per contest.

The Hornets could certainly use him in the lineup right now considering their recent struggles, with the team losing two in a row and five of their last seven games.

However, it would seem like that the game in Phoenix would be a great opportunity for Charlotte to get back on track.

The Suns have had some major struggles this season, sporting just a 9-31 record to this point. With that said, this should be a game where the Hornets can regain some momentum.

Of course, that's much easier said than done in the NBA, as road games aren't exactly easy at any point during the regular season.

This matchup will be the second of a six-game road trip for the Hornets, and they were unable to get back to their winning ways on Saturday night as they lost to the Denver Nuggets.

After the game against the Suns, the Hornets will continue their road swing with a matchup with the LA Clippers on Tuesday night at Staples Center.
