The Charlotte Hornets were able to snag their first win without rookie stalwart LaMelo Ball in the fold. LaMelo himself celebrated the victory with a message to his teammates.

Via Twitter, LaMelo sent some love to his Hornets teammates after their  100-97 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Monday.

To recall, LaMelo suffered a hard fall on Saturday in their loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. The following day, it was announced that he suffered a fractured wrist and was ruled out for the season.

Hornets fans were deeply disappointed with the news especially with how the Hornets have performed with the 19-year-old LaMelo in the fold. The third overall pick of the 2020 NBA Draft has proved that the hype surrounding him is real. Not only did he show off his vision and playmaking abilities, but he also aided the Hornets to make a push for the NBA Playoffs.

For the rest of the season, the Hornets are going to miss 15.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, a team-high 6.1 assists, and the host of intangibles that LaMelo brings to the floor. Guard Terry Rozier knows the value that the young playmaker brings. But he said they have no choice but to adjust (via ESPN).

“We are definitely going to miss him. But we’ve just to got to adjust. This is what we’ve got. He’s a special player, a great player, but this is part of the NBA. Not move on, but we’ve just got to make it happen.

It will be interesting to see what other forms of adjustments the Hornets make without LaMelo Ball moving forward. But based on their first game without him, they will be just fine.
