It didn't take long for LaVar Ball to start talking up the Charlotte Hornets. It hasn't been a couple of weeks since the franchise selected his son, LaMelo Ball, as the third overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, and already, the always entertaining LaVar is already talking championship for the Hornets.

In a recent appearance on Shannon Sharpe's Club Shay Shay program, LaVar guaranteed a title for Charlotte — with one big caveat:

“With Melo, you gon’ be good, bring in Gelo, you gon’ be better, bring in Lonzo, I guarantee you’ll win a championship and make MJ the baddest owner ever,” LaVar claimed, via Erikas Polockas of TalkBasket.net.

According to Ball, the Hornets will definitely win a title if the team decides to bring in his other two sons in LiAngelo Ball and Lonzo Ball. He's already name-dropping the great Michael Jordan, the current owner of the Hornets franchise, which is probably something we should start getting used to.

Signing LiAngelo — under the presumption that the Hornets actually want to, of course — shouldn't prove to be too difficult. Currently, the second of the three Ball brothers is plying his trade with the Oklahoma City Blue in the NBA G League. Bringing in Lonzo, on the other hand, is going to be much more difficult. The 23-year-old has emerged as a key piece for the New Orleans Pelicans' young core, and they will demand quite a haul in any potential trade deal.

Whatever the case may be, LaVar has once again succeeded in getting us to talk about his three sons. That's pretty much on-brand for the outspoken Ball family patriarch.
